Heather founded Heather’s Floral Art in the heart of The Sonoma Wine Country in 1993 to express her creativity for clients looking for sophisticated elegance from someone devoted solely to weddings and special events. From the lush vineyard settings of Sonoma and Napa, to regal mansions of San Francisco, to dream wedding destinations, Heather LaRiviere creates event florals to delight the eye and imagination.

From arrangements that reflect an elegant natural simplicity to exciting and bountiful European creations, Heather’s attention to detail and creativity ensure her clients will receive the feeling and style that captivates the mood and theme that makes their special day all about them.

Her designs evoke nature with their seasonal relevance. Heather’s lush blend of flowers and gorgeous silk textiles combine for a final product which is both sensual and evocative.

During early morning excursions to the San Francisco Flower Market, Heather individually hand selects only the freshest and most beautiful flowers, from local to as far away as New Zealand, South America and Holland. Northern California offers locally grown Hydrangeas, Garden Roses, Grapevine, Citrus, Olive Branches, fragrant herbs, vegetables and fruit. She also finds and collects unique containers.

Her creations have been seen at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, the Lodge at Sonoma, The Culinary Institute of America Greystone, Chateau Souverain, Viansa, Auberge du Soleil, Trentadue Winery, Marin Country Club, Meadowood, MacArthur Place, Ledson Winery, Fairmont Hotel San Francisco, Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves, Churchill Manor, Clos Pegase Winery, V. Drawing inspiration from the world of art & nature, Heather LaRiviere creates designs that merge fragrances and colors of her birth place, Edinburgh, Scotland, with a modern sculptural edge from her home in America. It was her American grandmother who inspired Heather’s love of gardens and flowers.

Themes from her childhood echo through the richly-colored palette of flowers and fragrant herbs. Design elements may include a profusion of European garden flowers like Peonies, Hydrangea, French Tulips, and Roses, balanced with herbs such as Rosemary, Bay Leaves, Scented Geranium, & Red Basil. She also brings into play textural elements like Rose Hips, Berries, Grapes, Seed Pods, Pomegranates, Artichokes, Grape Vines, and Olive Branches.

After studying Horticulture, Botany, Floriculture, and Landscape Architecture in Europe and America, Heather’s love of floriculture inspired her to work exclusively in the world of flowers. For over twenty years, Heather has owned and managed retail and wholesale floral businesses. She has taught floral design classes, received accolades in international competitions, and worked as a consultant for other floral designers.
